Halloween

“Doces ou travessuras”? Uma pergunta que, quando ouvimos, sabemos imediatamente em que dia estamos: Halloween! Uma celebração que ocorre no dia 31 de outubro e que carrega um ar de mistério, diversão e um tanto quanto assustador (só um pouquinho). Essa celebração tem suas raízes na cultura celta e ganhou popularidade em muitos lugares do mundo, especialmente nos Estados Unidos.

O Halloween (All Hallows Eve, ou All Hallows Evening) é também conhecido como Dia das Bruxas, e neste dia as pessoas se vestem com fantasias assustadoras, decoram suas casas com abóboras esculpidas e saem em busca de “doces ou travessuras”. A festa gira em torno do sobrenatural, com fantasmas, bruxas, vampiros e outras criaturas assustadoras como temas comuns.

Embora o Halloween seja uma celebração divertida e repleta de criatividade, também tem um lado mais profundo que se conecta com as tradições e crenças antigas. Muitos acreditam que nesta noite, a barreira entre o mundo dos vivos e o mundo dos mortos se torna mais fina, permitindo a comunicação com os espíritos. “Trick or treat”? A question that, when we hear it, we immediately know which day it is: Halloween! A celebration that takes place on October 31st and carries an air of mystery, fun, and somewhat spooky (just a little bit though).
